Finnmark: North and East – Largest and fewest Finnmark is situated in the extreme North East of the country. Of all the counties, it has the largest area and the fewest inhabitants. Its mainland stretches as far North as to the peninsula Kinnarodden and as far East as to the island of Hornøya i Vardø municipality. What do provide us? Fisheries and reindeer - oil and mining: Natural resources abound i Finnmark, on land and in the ocean. Exploitation and export of fish resources in the Barents Sea is vital for employment and habitation in the North.
